Yoga in Cusco - Peru

You are invited to practice yoga at Paramatma Holistic Healing

Yoga Teacher: Rachel Durling

Rachel's love of movement began at an early age when she saw her first dance performance at age 6 and begged her parents for lessons. She then went on to study classical ballet, modern dance, jazz, and improvisation in New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore for 12 years before dancing professionally in San Francisco from 2006-2008. Rachel began her yoga practice with the simple desire to condition the body and it has since helped her grow mentally and spiritually in ways she had never expected. She received her Ashtanga Yoga teacher certification under Chaitanya Nitay Das in February 2009 and began teaching at Yoga Inbound in January 2010.

Her classes combine a variety of movement and asanas, with emphasis on the mind-body connection and the technical aspects of building a strong practice. She is grateful to have the opportunity to share her practice here in Cusco - Peru and hopes that others will be able to cultivate more love for themselves, their environments, and all other living things by sharing theirs. Yoga teacher trainer.

 Namaste.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy in Cusco

Cranio-Sacral Therapy - Using light pressure/touch, cranio-sacral therapy is a non-invasive hands on healing that alleviates soft tissue restrictions from the skull and internal head (brain) to the sacrum (tail bone) increasing cerebral fluid circulation. Decrease pain, muscle stiffness and tension throughout the body and increase focus, memory and range of motion in your extremities.  Head trauma, headaches, neck stiffness and right-left alignment issues respond well to this therapy.

Cranio-sacral Therapy is a subtle and profound therapy which informs and assists the body’s natural capacity to self-correct. It is a gentle, hands on method of detecting and releasing restrictions in the cranio-sacral system that surrounds the brain and spinal cord.
Cranio-sacral Therapy is so gentle, it is well received by all ages and conditions, from the very young to the elderly.

During a cranio-sacral session the client will usually lie or sit, fully clothed on the treatment table. The therapist will then tune in at a deep level of “ listening” with their hands.
Contact is light and usually applied at different intervals along the spine, from the head to the sacrum, although cranio-sacral therapy can be applied anywhere it is needed. The first noticeable response is a sense of deep relaxation. It is not uncommon to feel as if you are sleeping and also aware at the same time.
With regular treatments, this deep relaxation and release of tension can extend into the everyday experience, enhancing the quality of life physically, emotionally and spiritually.

With Respect to Reiki :

Regrettably, I have seen many people throughout the years making a business of selling Reiki certifications who are in reality pseudo-teachers of Reiki. These “teachers” use drugs, alcohol, and/or eat meat, thinking that Reiki can purify their minds and bodies regardless of what they consume, and they go on to teach this to their students. This is very harmful because the energy of Prana, or Reiki, functions according to more subtle laws, such as the law of action and reaction known as Karma in Sanskrit.
What I learned is that any person can transmit Reiki, as long as his actions are pure and lives according to universal truths. This journey is difficult for many because it orders detachment from many things. A reiki practitioner is a servant of the Supreme, therefore he must not contaminate his body and mind in order to transmit Prana in its purest form to the recipient.
